Depth palette: Depth shading

In downloaded social maps, if I select Depth palette: Depth shading, I can customize shading (Depth1, Depth2) in device, and as a result depth polygons palette.
Is it possible for self-made maps? What attributes and how must I set for polygons, to enable this for my maps?
