Font rendering with white border
« am: 01 Mai 2017, 10:18:20 »
Hi,

I noticed that the font is rendered differently depending on wheter it is rendered with an icon or not. A text without an icon has a white border whereas texts with icon do not have a white border.

I really like the white border around the text because otherwise the text can be hard to read if there are many contour lines behind and beside it.

Is there a way to render icon texts with that white border too?

Example image: You can see that the text of the swimming icon is rendered without white border.

Best regards
Sven

Sven,
you like the white border?

I hate it most of the time when you have much minor contours.
Then it looks terrible for me. :-)

So for me i like to ask for a way to render without an outline.  ;-)

Text without an icon always renders on black with a white halo on NOS.

Text with an icon renders based on the settings specified on the feature - COLOR for the primary color and HAL_COLOR for the halo color.

Thank you Gregory, works like a charm.

Sven,
you like the white border?

I think the white halo is really helpful in most cases but take a look yourself:
